Bring a clear starting point
A project does not need a finished formula to begin. It does need a clear purpose, an identified ingredient or concept, and an understanding of the questions that remain open.
The essential inputs
- Ingredient identity and specification, with a certificate of analysis when available.
- Target dose per unit and intended daily serving.
- Preferred format and the reason for considering it.
- Intended use and target sales market.
- Development stage, quantity units and packaging preferences.
Keep the first conversation non-confidential
Share enough to establish fit. Proprietary formulas, unpublished process details and customer information should be exchanged under suitable confidentiality arrangements.
Agree on the decision
A useful feasibility stage ends with a decision: proceed to a prototype, revise the brief, consider an alternative format, or stop. An early, well-supported decision can be more valuable than an attractive sample.
